  • Disconnected/reconnected the ribbon cable from touchpad to the motherboard.

  • Reinstalled the HID-compliant touchpad driver (using the "Browse my computer" option for locating drivers).
  • Uninstalled/reinstalled the ELANTECH drivers using the drivers on the Acer support site.
